Every Calton is made to fit a specific guitar. If the case is made for a 14 fret Martin D-28, chances are excellent that it will fit your Martin 14 fret D-28 perfectly, but it will not fit your 12 Fret Martin D-28S at all. If the case is made for a Martin D-28 it will not fit a Gibson Hummingbird. If it is made for a Gibson Humming bird it will not fit a Gibson J-50. .....and so on. This is not exageration this is fact! Each Calton is hand fitted to a tolerance of 1mm.

These are expensive cases made for expensive and important guitars. Why would you trust your fine instrument, or even more important, your livelyhood to a compromised case?

Calton custom fitted fibreglass instrument cases are rugged, well balanced, and attractive hard-shelled cases with interiors tailored to each instrument. Each half of every case is hand moulded in a single piece, using pigmented resin, with no seams to separate and colour that is isntegral to the fibreglass. All hardware is high quality plated steel, attached to the case with steel rivets and reinforcing plates. Careful attention is paid to the placement of the leather handle in order to provide the optimum in comfort and balance.

A PVC strip completely edges both top and bottom halves of the case. This strong, flexible strip, combined with the natural water repellent qualites of the fibreglass, provides an almost perfect seal against the elements. Case interiors are hand crafted from high quality foam padding, using up to 15 measurements and a template of the instrument. All interior surfaces are finished in crushed velour, and the pickbox is topped with a large foam pad that cushions the neck. The neck is further protected with a padded guide that restricts side-to-side movement.
